Out-Takes from the Nutcracker

Last night, we went to the Nutcracker Ballet.  I got 6 tickets in the balcony, so we dropped off Matt at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the evening, and set off for the theater.  Half way there, we had to turn around and go home so Andrew could put his contacts in.  I told him there was no way he would be able to see the stage from way up there.  And it was a lot of money, so I would prefer that he could see.

We did make it to the performance in plenty of time.  During the ballet, Joey kept turning to me and saying, "this is weird." He also let a loud toot during a quiet part. I turned and looked at him to see if it was really him that had offended, but he just kept looking right ahead and didn't acknowledge me at all.  He admitted it with pride later, though.

Grace noticed the big stage lights attached to the ceiling and asked Ben what the cannons were for.

When the sheep came on to dance, she told Ben they were guinnea pigs.

Ben asked her if she liked the guy dancer's tights.  She said "no".

After intermission, the dancers started to come back onstage.  Grace rolled her eyes and said, "He's back.  With the pants."

Everybody was happy to leave at the end, and then declared that they liked it.  (Except for Joey, who still said it was weird.)
